Dubblefilm Treat 400 36exp
Bring the lush, golden look of modern cinema to your everyday 35mm photography. This is a fresh, full-length 36 exposure roll of Dubblefilm TREAT 400—a versatile, daylight-balanced colour negative film adapted directly from elite motion picture stock.
While Dubblefilm’s CINEMA 800 film is chemically balanced for artificial night-time lighting, TREAT is optimized for the sun. It delivers rich, natural skin tones, deep colours, and an undeniable Hollywood aesthetic right out of your camera.
The Highlights
-
Authentic Motion Picture DNA: TREAT is carefully adapted from professional Kodak Vision3 250D cinema stock. Dubblefilm has pre-removed the tough, protective black carbon layer (Remjet), meaning you get incredible cinematic latitude and master-class colour science, but it can be safely developed at any local photo lab using standard C-41 chemistry.
-
The Daylight-Balanced Advantage: Because it is balanced for 5500K daylight, this film excels under the sun. Instead of the heavy blue shifts seen when shooting tungsten film during the day, TREAT produces stunning, true-to-life colours with a warm, nostalgic, and beautifully sun-drenched character.
-
The Famous Glowing Halation Effect: With the Remjet layer removed, bright points of light—like brilliant sun glints, backlit hair, or streetlights at dusk—will bloom into a striking, glowing neon-red halo effect. This red halation creates a surreal, poetic look wherever strong highlights meet deep shadows.
-
Incredible Exposure Flexibility: This film is remarkably dynamic. While packaged as an ISO 400 stock, the cinema-grade emulsion has massive exposure latitude. It can easily be shot at ISO 100, 200, or 400, adapting beautifully to changing weather and lighting conditions throughout the day.
